The fundamentals of success remain surprisingly human if you want a dream job, either in #Sales (of course, a great option for most of our readers), or in another part of any organization:
1. Skills + Passion = Success. You’ll love your job more when you’re actually prepared for it. Lean into your natural talents. Whether you’re coding or selling, it’s all about solving people’s problems.
2. Pick a boss, not just a brand. For your first job, your manager is your most important mentor. Find someone who will help you grow, not just someone who tracks your hours. A great manager doesn’t just set your KPIs, but will provide the leadership that makes you want to show up and perform, and will also have to invest in you.
3. AI is a tool, not a replacement for humans. It is great for structure and data, but it can’t replace empathy, imagination, or real human relationships. Don’t let “AI-slop” replace your own voice.
Train your critical thinking and nurture your empathy. In a world dominated by AI and automations, the ability to analyze, make ethical decisions, and truly connect with other people is your ultimate competitive advantage. AI can’t decide for you what is good or right, and can’t replace the human connections and relationships that you develop.
